Why does she remain with Mr. Gumby?

Her sister-in-law, Laurie Krantz, an old hippie, knew about me and also Steve's Trailer Park girlfriend, Lori Reattoire. They probably have been laughing behind her back for years. People may say that Love keeps such couples together, but I wonder what the real reason is that a woman would be hurt and humiliated by her husband, for many years and she still remains with him. No man is worth that much "so called Love". Since Steve is an accomplished manipulator, perhaps he has manipulated her into remaining with him. Per his sister, Laurie, Kim has everything all tied up with him. Or... Maybe she does not have the confidence to find another man like the rest of us women have done. She is content with being with Steven who is not a "real man".
